At the center of each medallion is an engraved four-armed cross with a floral ornament in its lower part; above the side arms is the inscription "IS" and "XC" ("Jesus Christ"). The third fragment, in the form of a round medallion with a dotted border, depicts the Mother of God with hands raised in a gesture of prayer, wearing a maphorion; around her head is a round halo with the inscriptions "MR" and "ΘU" ("Mother of God"). Note: the three fragments from the barm belonged to the pre-war (pre-1941) part of the collection of the H. S. Skovoroda Historical Museum. The barm was evacuated in 1941, and the fragments were returned to Kharkiv in November 1944. A barm is a precious ornament and element of ceremonial dress — a wide shoulder-piece or round collar worn over festive garments.
