Description

A four-armed, two-part hinged cross with widened, shaped ends. At the center is a small applied four-armed cross with enamel, bearing a depiction of the "Crucifixion" (now lost). At the ends of the cross and beneath the "Crucifixion" are applied oval enameled medallions. At the top of the cross is a medallion depicting God Sabaoth, with long gray hair, a thick mustache and beard, dressed in a light-colored chiton and a red himation, with a triangular halo around his head. At the end of the left arm is a medallion depicting the Mother of God, dressed in a crimson chiton and a dark-blue maphorion, with a round halo above her head. At the end of the right arm is a medallion depicting John the Theologian, with long dark hair, dressed in a green chiton and a purple himation, with a round halo above his head. Beneath the "Crucifixion" is a medallion depicting the head of Adam, below which is an applied eight-petaled flower of yellow metal. On the reverse of the cross is an engraved, shaped image of a cross.

The cross belonged to the pre-war collection of the Sloboda Ukraine Museum named after H. S. Skovoroda.
