Description
The Virgin Mary is shown seated on a dark stone elevation. She holds the young Jesus in her arms, drawing him close to her. The Infant Christ kneels on his Mother's lap, his right hand resting on her shoulder. Mary wears a pink-coral dress, over which is draped a dark-blue cloak falling in relief folds to the bottom of the composition. A light white covering is visible in Mary's hands and beneath the Infant.
Legend: the painting "Madonna with the Infant" was copied from a work by the renowned Spanish painter Bartolomé Esteban Murillo (1618–1682).
