Description

The icon belongs to the so-called "folk" type.

Against a light-blue background, the icon shows a half-length image of Saint Svyrydon (Spyridon) with dark-brown hair, a mustache and a beard. He wears a green chiton and an ochre-toned himation. In his left hand he holds a yellow four-pointed cross, pointing to it with his right hand. Around the saint's head is a round halo, marked with a narrow yellow band. To the right and left of the halo is the inscription: "St. Svyrydon."

The icon was seized at the Rava-Ruska customs post. It entered the museum by decision of the State Customs Committee of Ukraine and the National Committee for the Return of Cultural Property to Ukraine under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in 1995.
